A Monegasque delegation comprising Florian Botto, Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Michael Landau, a senior official at the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, took part in the annual meeting of the Council of Europe’s Agreement on Sport.
At the meeting, held in Strasbourg on 27 and 28 May 2026, the Monegasque officials gave a presentation on preparations for the 19th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport, which will be hosted by the Principality on 3 and 4 November 2026. Detailed discussions between the delegates and youth representatives on the Conference’s theme – "Safer and Healthier Sport for All Children" – produced some very interesting avenues for reflection that will feed into the decisions that Ministers will take in Monaco.
The event, which is expected to bring together nearly 300 participants, will be a highlight of the Monegasque Presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers from 15 May to 10 November 2026.
Information about the Conference is available on the event website: https://sportministerial2026.gouv.mc/
The meeting also afforded an opportunity to present the outcomes of the first visit to Monaco by experts responsible for assessing implementation of the European Sports Charter on 18 and 19 March 2026. The presentation reaffirmed Monaco’s commitment to the values and objectives promoted by the Charter.
Ambassador H.E. Gabriel Revel, Monaco’s Permanent Representative to Strasbourg, took part in the event in his capacity as President of the Committee of Ministers at Deputy Level, and presented the organisation’s priorities.
