Monaco's Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe : Monaco presents its priorities to the OSCE in Vienna

In her address, she stressed that the Council of Europe and the OSCE, whose mandates and responsibilities overlap in many respects, are complementary organisations and that cooperation is now more essential than ever in the face of an increasing number of crises.

Recalling the guiding vision of Monaco's Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe — "Protecting everyone through an effective Organisation equipped to address today's challenges" — she reaffirmed the Principality's commitment to defending fundamental rights, protecting women and children, safeguarding the essential role of the European Court of Human Rights, and strengthening international cooperation in the fight against organised crime.

The Minister concluded by reaffirming that dialogue, cooperation and multilateralism must remain at the heart of international action, a message that was widely echoed by the delegations which took the floor to commend her presentation.

She was accompanied by H.E. Lorenzo RAVANO, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the OSCE, H.E. Gabriel REVEL, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the Council of Europe, as well as Mr Jean-Laurent IMBERT and Mr Florian BOTTO, Advisers.

Bringing together 57 participating States, it works to prevent conflict, maintain peace and stability, and promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law, notably through political dialogue, mediation and election observation.
